HIIT – High Intensity Interval Training:

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), can be done by anyone (a long range of ages and/or body types) using mainly of bodyweight resistance. Some of the benefits will help give people a reason to try it instead of thinking that they are not ready for this type of workout. Some people just think HIIT is for crazy people or for athletes. We will clear that myth up! Here are some benefits you may see from taking HIIT classes:

  • Many vascular benefits
  • Lowered resting heart rate, improved athleticism (coordination, balance, strength, endurance)
  • Benefits like increased caloric expenditure (which can lead to decreased fat mass)
  • Increased cell support and metabolism (which is good for everyday functions & health)
  • Improved blood pressure/vascular function (good for longevity of the heart)
  • Improved V02 max (or maximum heart rate/function/durability)
  • Decreased stress (well…after the workout)

Mat Pilates:

Done on the floor using an exercise or yoga mat, which employs controlled breathing during body weight resisted movement to build core strength. An example of a popular mat pilates pose is called the Hundred.

Yoga classes consist of poses which stretch the body and mind. Each style of yoga taught is different based on the individual teacher’s training. Each yoga teacher will be at least RYT200 certified through the Yoga Alliance and have self-liability insurance. Each event can request a class be taught with music or lead with an intention to match your event. Yoga mats are not required but helpful in the practice. EvConFitness has yoga mats available for rent or purchase.

Water Aerobics/ Water Zumba:

Perfect for those looking to make a splash by adding a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise to their fitness routine. Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss! The benefits of fitness in the water:

Zumba is an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music. Zumba instructors are certified by, at minimum, Zumba Basic Level 1 Instructor and have their own self-liability insurance.
